Michelle Obama Uses False Info to Hype Gun Fears

Michelle Obama's appearance on ABC's Good Morning Appearance makes it painfully clear that the administration is using the senseless death of children to further its political agenda of banning certain guns.

Mrs. Obama said that 15-year-old Chicago murder victim Hadiya Pendleton was killed by an "automatic" weapon. President Obama is trying to ban a host of "scary-looking" weapons, which, in order to create fear about these weapons, are being called "automatic weapons," "assault rifles" and "military-style assault weapons." None of the names are accurate, but they are not intended to be.

Mrs. Obama was clearly, and disappointingly, playing on efforts to heighten fears.  After attending Hadiya's funeral and hosting her parents at the State of the Union speech, Mrs. Obama is no doubt aware that the girl was murdered by a handgun, not an "automatic weapon."

While ABC edited out the erroneous remark in its video, here is what Mrs. Obama said:

She was standing out in a park with her friends in a neighborhood blocks away from where my kids…grew up, where our house is. She had just taken a chemistry test. And she was caught in the line of fire because some kids had some automatic weapons they didn’t need. I just don’t want to keep disappointing our kids in this country. I want them to know that we put them first.
