Two days ago on Fox News, Dana Perino came out with a prediction:
"I believe with what you saw over the weekend, these five, the dream team of the Taliban being released, that that this pattern of releasing these guys is going to happen,” she said. “And there will be no Gitmo prisoners at the end because they are going to try to close it that way."
Well, yesterday, without batting an eye, Senator Harry Reid confirmed that Perino's suspicions. Referring to the 150 Gitmo prisoners, who are classified as "enemy combatants," Reid said:
"Guantanamo has been there far too long, and I think that we should get them out of there as quickly as we can."
He added that he is "glad to get rid" of the 5 Taliban leaders.
So much for failure to notify Congress resulting from urgent concerns about Bergdahl's "deteriorating health," or because of an "oversight" (the story from the White House keeps evolving). The Obama Administration didn't notify Congress because the twilight zone prisoner swap--5 leading henchman for the Taliban for one suspected US deserter--is all part of their political agenda. An agenda that no mere law will deter them from achieving.
Apparently, the Democrats are on the same page when it comes to closing down Gitmo by releasing some of the most dangerous, violent people back into the world. They know full well that these characters will resume their merciless assault on all who disagree with their grotesque world view.
